Objectives
Makerspace @ Beacon offers a vibrant and hands-on learning environment where students can explore ideas and turn them into reality. We place a strong emphasis on Making in Education, as we believe that hands-on experiences help students gain valuable knowledge, skills, and values.
Through our BEACON CREATES framework, students develop key 21st Century Competencies such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. These skills are essential for managing challenges in today’s fast-changing world. Our approach encourages active learning, while nurturing curiosity, creativity, and confidence.
Due to limited spaces, enrolment into the Makerspace CCA is not automatic. If there are more applicants than available slots, a selection trial will be held to assess students’ hands-on abilities.
To extend the experience beyond regular members, selected students from other CCAs may also be invited to join a 5-week Makerspace attachment at the Primary 4 or 5 level. This gives more students the opportunity to enjoy the benefits and excitement of making.
